  Home Health Care…

There is no place like home…in times of health and prosperity,
and perhaps even more so in times of illness and medical
recovery.  The North Penn Visiting Nurse Association provides
high quality health care in your home.

Our professional staff of registered nurses works closely with
your physician to develop a care plan to treat you if you were
recently discharged from the hospital, are bedridden, temporarily
disabled, or suffering from multiple medical problems.  We pride
ourselves in treating you with dignity and doing our best to
enhance your quality life and assist in your recovery.

North Penn VNA nurses have been a source of comfort to care
givers and family members, as well as those in our medical
     community for almost 90 years.

A Nurse is available 24 hours a day, seven days a
    week, when you need one.

The number and frequency of home care visits can depend
upon the type and severity of your illness or injury and your
     needs assessment.

     Services include:

Home Care services can be coordinated with other North
Penn VNA services such as Meals on Wheels or Adult Day
     Services.

    Referrals

A referral can be made by a patient, family member or a
physician.  Referrals made by anyone other than a physician
will have to be confirmed by the patient's physician.

To refer a patient or to request an assessment, please call
our intake coordinator at 215-855-8296, ext. 121.

    Insurance

As payment for services, North Penn VNA accepts most
major insurances including Medicare, Blue Cross and HMO
plans. A sliding scale is available for those without insurance
     coverage.

    Skilled Nursing

Registered nurses can provide many services to you in your
home including IV therapy, injections, wound care, skilled
assessments and observations, and diet and medication
     instruction.

    Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy

Ordered by a physician, or assessed by the nurse during
admission, you may need the services of a therapist.  The type of
therapy depends upon your needs and the type of injury or illness.
If therapy is required, a licensed physical, speech or occupational
therapist will provide therapy in your home.

    Home Health Aides

Because of your type of illness or your recovery time, you may
need help with basic day-to-day activities.  Under the supervision
of nurses, our specially trained home health aides can give you a
bath, shop, do laundry or prepare light meals for you.

    Social Work

Special emotional, social and environmental needs often
accompany severe illness or injury.  You may have questions
regarding insurance issues or other available services and
resources.  Our social worker can help with these type of issues.

The social worker’s services can be requested by you, your
     caregiver or your nurse.
