Abington Health Announces its
Acquisition of North Penn VNA

ABINGTON, PA (April 1, 2013) - After a period of due diligence,
officials at Abington Health are pleased to announce that the
acquisition of the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association (NPVNA)
has been finalized, effective April 1, 2013.

“The leaders and staff of the NPVNA have created a wonderful
organization dedicated to serving the home health and community
health needs of the greater North Penn region,” says Laurence M.
Merlis, Abington Health’s president and chief executive officer.

“By bringing the NPVNA to Abington Health, it allows us to expand
our home health services geographically and enhances our ability
to provide the full continuum of care across the region.”

The NPVNA’s 100 professional staff members have joined
Abington Health Home Care and Hospice, which employs 200
professionals who provide home care and hospice to residents in
parts of Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

“This is an exciting time for all of us in Home Care as we expect
to serve many more members of our community next year,” said
Elissa Della Monica, executive director of Home Care and
    Hospice at Abington Health.
“It is a privilege to serve people in
their homes when they need us most.”

Along with staff members, the NPVNA services transitioning to
Abington Health include a Chronic Care Management Program,
Meals on Wheels, clinics for children, and dental services,
and health education classes, support groups, health screenings
    and CPR training.
These services will continue to be provided at
the Medical Campus Drive facility on the Lansdale Hospital
campus. Adult day services are provided at three locations in the
    community.
At the present time, patients and physicians can
    continue to access all services using the current phone numbers;
the main phone number is 215-885-8296.
